28 FOOT BOATS

KARINA: Captain Enrique Martinez is an older gentleman, with many years to his credit in the Cabo waters. This experienced captain is very popular with our clients and speaks good English. His deckhand Martin has been with Pisces for two years, but has 15 years experience overall he also speaks English. This crew keeps their vessel in immaculate condition. Captain Enrique was aboard when a world record roosterfish weighing 85 lb 13 oz was taken on 20 lb line -this record set in 1966 is yet to be broken.


 

ANDREA: Captain Juan Guiterrez speaks some English and has been with Pisces for seven years. Juan is pretty quiet but an excellent fisherman. He knows how to handle the boat well and does all that he can to come back with flags flying. Deckhand J.R, speaks good English and is a lot of fun, he is friendly and has five years experience. Juan has caught more swordfish than any of our captains, these are considered a great prize, as they are so elusive and difficult to catch.

 

ADRIANA: Captain Ricardo Agundez comes from a family of fishermen and has fished with Pisces since his late teens, having a total of 11 years with Pisces. Ricardo is one of our best fisherman and many of our clients will fish with nobody but him. Ricardo speaks fair English. Deckhand Beto is new to the fleet, he speaks a little English, is very pleasant and eager. Captain Ricardo landed the biggest ever tuna for our fleet in 1999, which weighed 310 lbs. Ricardo’s biggest fish ever was a 850 lb black marlin caught in 1990.

LA BRISA: Captain Rey Winkler has been with Pisces for 18 years and speaks English. His friendly attitude and fishing prowess have endeared him to many of our clients. His deckhand, Rosendo, has been with the fleet for 8 years, but recently joined this boat. These guys make a great team and work well together, to get you into fish. Rosendo speaks some English. Rey's biggest fish to date was huge blue marlin estimated at 800 lbs, released in February of 2001. Rey also has a record striped marlin catch for Cabo - a 289 lb specimen caught in 1987 - these fish rarely go over 200 lbs in this area.

 

 

TRACY-ANN: Captain Julio Castro has been with Pisces for 3 years and speaks good English. He has recently taken on the post of captain aboard this vessel, after skippering our 28 ft "Andrea". He and his deckhand Edgar are very dedicated fishermen and go after the fish aggressively. Julio is a pleasant guy and is a lot of fun. Edgar is a top-notch deckhand, who speaks English and is first class. Julio’s biggest fish was a 752 lb blue marlin, caught whilst he was partnered with Leon Camacho. Julio was the winner of the Billfish Foundation Award for releasing most striped marlin Worldwide in 2001; he was also the recipient of the Hugo Cessena Memorial Award, for being top marlin release captain in Cabo San Lucas this same year.

 

 

RUTHLESS: Captain Leon Camacho is the veteran of the fleet, being with Pisces since it started 20 years ago in La Paz and is a light tackle expert. Leon speaks some English. His personality is rather quiet, until he gets to know you, but he is a very experienced fisherman. He skippered the boat while angler Terry Fahey, from Florida landed a world record for blue marlin on 8-lb. test line. Deckhand Pedro has been fishing with Leon for over two years now and they are turning out to be great teammates. Winner Billfish Foundation award for releasing most striped marlin worldwide 1989.

 

 

REBECCA: Captain Roberto Sandez speaks some English and has been with Pisces for 9 years. A mild mannered and pleasant personality, he runs a tight ship and is a very skilled fisherman. This guy is consistent and likable. His deckhand Victor is very amiable and knows what he is doing around fish as well as being friendly with people. Both crewmembers speak a little English and pride themselves on an immaculate vessel. One of our most consistent fish producers and a crew admired by their co-workers. On August 8th 2001 this team achieved a Super Offshore Grand Slam for Dr. Rick Walsh from Ohio. On this one day he released two blue marlin, one black marlin, one striped marlin and a Pacific sailfish. This vessel also won a celebrity tournament here in 1995, taking first place for actor Cheech Marin.
